Warm weather was felt along much of the East Coast with record highs of 87 degrees in Mobile, Alabama; 80 in Asheville, North Carolina; and 76 degrees in Syracuse, New York. The low of 70 degrees in Richmond that day marks its latest calendar-day low of 70 or higher.
