DC weather history for December 29

Unseasonable warmth in 1984 sent temperatures soaring to 75 degrees, one of the highest readings ever recorded so late in the year.

On this day in 1984, the District soared to a record high of 75 degrees, which also marked the highest temperature so late in the calendar year. It was the second day in a row to top 70 and that month was sixth warmest December on record.
