DC weather history for March 22

A remarkable early-season heat wave in 1907 set off a string of record highs, including the hottest March temperature ever observed.

On this date in 1907, the high soared to a calendar-day record of 90 degrees. It was the first of three consecutive calendar-day record highs. The next day, on March 23, it hit 93 — D.C.'s highest observed March temperature. Six days later, it also hit 92 degrees — the second highest March temperature on record.
