DC weather history for May 21

A late-season chill in 1992 brought widespread frost across the East, with some locations plunging to near-freezing temperatures unusually late in spring.

On this date in 1992, it was abnormally cold in most of the eastern United States, with unusually late frost in many areas. Washington Dulles International Airport dipped to a record low of 33 degrees. Baltimore-Washington International Marshall Airport fell to 38 degrees and Reagan National Airport 43. Atlantic City plummeted to 28 degrees, its lowest temperature on record so late in the season.
