DC weather history for March 16

A late-season 2014 snowstorm overperformed forecasts, delivering significant accumulations and one of the heaviest snowfalls so late in the season.

On this date in 2014, 3.3 inches fell in D.C., part of a two-day storm that would ultimately produce 7.2 inches — several inches more than predicted. More than 11 inches fell at Washington Dulles International Airport. It was among the heaviest snowfalls so late in the season on record.
