DC weather history for June 22

An unseasonable chill in 1992 brought record cold and a stretch of below-normal temperatures across much of the East.

On this date in 1992, the temperature dropped to a calendar-day record low of 51 degrees. Cold weather spread over most of the eastern United States. Indianapolis set a June record low of 37 and Muskegon, Mich., reached 32 degrees, its latest freezing temperature on record. 

In D.C., the high was only 73, one of four straight days with highs below 80.
