DC weather history for February 1

Unseasonable warmth in 2002 pushed temperatures to a record 77 degrees, part of a remarkable late-January to early-February stretch with repeated 60-degree days.

On this day in 2002, the District set a calendar-day record high of 77 degrees. This came just two days after another record high of 77 on Jan. 30. Between Jan. 24 and Feb. 1, it hit at least 60 degrees on six different days.
